Shopping Spree to help local food pantries
On Monday, February 20, the Kane County Farm Bureau will host its 11th annual Food Check-Out “Challenge,” a Shopping Spree to benefit local food pantries.  The public is invited to watch State Representative Bob Pritchard and State Senator Christine Johnson race to collect food to help restock the shelves of the Between Friends Food Pantry, Sugar Grove and the Burlington-Hampshire Food Pantry.  The contest will once again be held at the Batavia Jewel-Osco in Batavia.

SPROUTS Recieves CAE Award
AFBF President Bob Stallman presented the County Activities of Excellence award to KCFB Ag Literacy Coordinator Suzi Myers at the AFBF Annual Meeting in January for the Spring Program of Reading Outreach to Urban Teachers & Students. SPROUTS was shared with hundreds of Farm Bureau leaders who visited KCFB's booth at the event. Learn how you can volunteer for SPROUTS at an informational meeting on Monday, April 2. Volunteers will visit area classrooms April 16-20.
