Foundation awards 27 college scholarships
The Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation announced the names of its 2014 college scholarship recipients at a ceremony on April 6 at the Farm Bureau. These area students are studying to pursue agricultural careers or will embark on that journey this fall, at colleges across the country. Click here to learn more about the Foundation. Raffle winners announced at Touch-A-Tractor
On April 6, winners were drawn in the KCFB Foundation’s Winner’s Choice Tractor Raffle.  Congratulations to the following individuals and thanks to everyone who helped raise scholarship funds through this annual fundraiser!
Grand prize: 1954 Farmall Super MTA - Joe Seyller, Hampshire
$1,000 in groceries: Merle Octmann, Elburn. $500 in fuel: Eric Carlson, Villa Park
$250 in Kane County Farm Bureau Bucks: Jon Chapman, Wayne
FREE Pedal Tractor drawing: Abby Collins, Age 4

Calling All Teachers!
2014 Summer Ag Institutes June 9-13 & June 17-20
Teachers have a unique chance to learn about Kane County agriculture during SAI 1 by visiting local farms & Ag businesses. Farmer hosts provide a wealth of knowledge in a straight-forward way that’s easy to turn into classroom instruction. SAI 2 is a 4-day tour with a focus on renewable energy.  Hands on learning with visits to wind and solar farms, ethanol plants and more. Graduate credits available.
